How We Support You:
Comprehensive Clinical Assessments
At Better Futures, every client’s path to healing begins with a Comprehensive Clinical Assessment—a detailed, confidential meeting between you and a licensed clinician. This first session helps us understand your individual needs, challenges, and goals so we can guide you toward the most effective care.
During the assessment, we discuss your personal history, current symptoms, and life circumstances related to mental health and/or substance use. Our clinicians create a complete picture of your well-being to determine the appropriate level of care—such as intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (GOP), or other supportive services.
For individuals who are only seeking an assessment, Better Futures provides a professional clinical recommendation based on the findings. This includes guidance on what type of treatment or support would best meet your needs, which can be shared with courts, probation, or other providers if requested.

This process ensures that every person—whether continuing with us or not—leaves with clear direction, expert insight, and a foundation for lasting healing.
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)
Better Futures provides a structured, supportive treatment option for individuals who need more care than traditional outpatient therapy but do not require residential or inpatient services. It’s designed to help clients build stability, develop coping skills, and maintain recovery while continuing to live at home and manage daily responsibilities.

Our IOP focuses on healing the whole person—addressing the emotional, behavioral, and environmental factors that contribute to substance use, domestic violence, or mental health challenges. Clients participate in a combination of individual therapy, group counseling, and educational sessions that promote insight, accountability, and growth.
Key components of our IOP include:
-
Evidence-based treatment methods such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy
-
Relapse prevention and coping skills development
-
Emotional regulation and stress management strategies
-
Peer and group support to strengthen community connection
-
Coordination with medical, legal, and community resources when needed
To make treatment accessible and flexible, Better Futures offers both a Day Track and an Evening Track, allowing clients to choose a schedule that fits their work, school, or family life.
IOP serves as a bridge between intensive treatment and independent living, providing structure and support as clients work toward long-term recovery and personal empowerment.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers a private, one-on-one space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences with the support of a certified clinician. At Better Futures, our therapists use a variety of evidence-based approaches—including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care—to help you reach your personal goals and overcome the barriers holding you back.

This process is tailored entirely to you. Whether you’re managing anxiety, navigating recovery, rebuilding after trauma, or developing healthier coping strategies, your clinician will guide you through each step of growth at your own pace. Individual therapy is designed to support your healing on a personal level, empowering you to gain insight, build resilience, and create lasting change.
Group Therapy
Group therapy provides the essential community connection that supports lasting recovery and emotional growth. Led by a certified staff member, group sessions offer a safe, judgment-free space where clients can share experiences, give and receive feedback, and learn from one another.

This setting helps clients build accountability, improve communication, and develop empathy, all while realizing they are not alone in their journey. The group environment encourages honest expression, promotes a sense of belonging, and helps participants stay committed to their treatment goals.

At Better Futures, group therapy is more than a meeting—it’s a community that uplifts, empowers, and reminds you that healing happens together.
Urinary Analysis (UA)
Urinalysis testing is an important part of accountability and recovery monitoring, especially for those with substance use recovery. At Better Futures, all UA collections are supervised to ensure accuracy and integrity, and samples are processed through Millennium Health Labs, a trusted national laboratory known for reliable, confidential results.

We also work closely with court and probation services to ensure compliance with court-ordered or mandated testing requirements. Our approach is always professional and supportive—testing is used as a tool for guidance and progress, not punishment, helping clients stay focused and successful in their recovery.
Case Management
Case management connects clients with the resources and support systems they need to build stability and independence. Our compassionate team helps identify barriers, coordinate care, and provide referrals for services such as housing, employment assistance, healthcare, and legal support.

Each case manager works one-on-one with clients to ensure their basic needs are met while they continue healing. The goal is to bridge the gap between treatment and everyday life, providing consistent guidance and advocacy along the way.
Alumni Services
Healing doesn’t end when treatment does. The Better Futures Alumni Program offers ongoing support and connection for graduates of our programs. Alumni have access to group meetings, community events, and peer support networks designed to maintain recovery, accountability, and motivation long after treatment concludes.
This community allows members to celebrate progress, share wisdom, and stay connected with others who understand the journey. Through continued engagement and encouragement, our alumni program helps clients maintain long-term wellness and growth.
